Hainan grows two muskmelon crops a year — October to May — exactly when Xinjiang and other northern regions are out of season. Hainan melons already ship to Thailand and sit in premium Middle East supermarket chillers — and that off-season window is exactly the one we grow for.
Nearly half of China's muskmelon acreage is in Hainan and Xinjiang. When Xinjiang sleeps for winter, Hainan harvests. That counter-seasonal window is when prices — and import demand — peak.
All photos are our own: on the vine, in hand, at harvest, and cut open — green-flesh and orange-flesh harvests.
Premium soft type — chilled, like fruit ice cream.
Crisp type — firm, juicy slices.
Whole fruit is only the start. The same harvest feeds fresh-cut platters, melon-ball desserts and juice programs for premium retail and food service.
